When Riding Is Everyday Life: Integrating Communication Into Daily Mobility
At a sub-venue of the China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industry Fair, we explored how riding technology fits into everyday urban life beyond performance-driven scenarios.
Many people still view smart riding gear as equipment reserved for long-distance trips or group rides. To challenge this perception, we created interactive scenarios reflecting daily use, including30-minute urban commutes andcasual weekend rides.
Visitors tested communication devices while performing ordinary actions such aswalking with a helmet on, riding electric scooters, and navigating crowded indoor spaces. The focus was not speed or range, but whether the technology could adapt naturally without manual adjustment.
In one scenario, participants transitioned between indoor and outdoor environments while using voice interaction, observing how quickly the system adapted without requiring configuration changes.
The exhibition reinforced a key direction for us: communication tools should blend seamlessly into daily movement, regardless of how central riding is to a person’s routine.
