First Appearance at the Beijing Motorcycle Show: Testing Communication at Speed

Date: | Read: 19

At the 2023 Beijing International Motorcycle Exhibition, we focused on a challenge riders around the world frequently encounter but rarely discuss in depth: maintaining clear communication at speed.

In real riding conditions such ashigh-altitude winding routes like the Sichuan–Tibet highway ormulti-bike formations on open roads, intercom performance is often compromised by wind noise, engine vibration, and rapidly changing distances between riders. Many riders report that once speeds exceed80 km/h, audio clarity drops noticeably, forcing them to repeat messages or abandon communication altogether.

Instead of static displays, we conducted live demonstrations under simulated riding pressure. Visitors were invited to speak, listen, and switch roles between rider and passenger while intentionally introducing interference byraising their voices, increasing distance, and adding background noise.

Across repeated tests, audio transmission remained clear and stable, with no obvious distortion or signal dropouts. Severalexperienced instructors and riders who regularly ride more than 100 km per day noted that the system required minimal adjustment once activated, reducing the need to interact with controls while riding.

This debut marked an early step in our long-term focus on validating communication reliability under real-world riding stress, insights that continue to influence how we design for riders across different environments globally.
